Heri Temple is also known as "Qiegeng Temple" and "Qiegenger Temple". In Tibetan, it is called "Heri Gongte Quezha Xilin", which means "Heri Miaocheng Jixiangzhou". The temple is a Nyingmapa monastery. It is the tent temple. The Great Sutra Hall in the temple enshrines the statue of Master Padmasambhava, the originator of Tibetan Buddhism. Behind the temple, on the hillside with an altitude of more than 3,500 meters, there is a stone scripture wall known as the "Wonder of Stone Books" in the world.
The Stone Scripture Wall is located in the back mountain of Heri Temple, Zeku County, Huangnan Prefecture. The wall of stone scriptures is 3 meters high, 2.5 meters thick, and 200 meters long. Including three other piles of stone scriptures, the total length is nearly 300 meters. The content of the scriptures is Tibetan Buddhist masterpieces "Kanjur", "Danjur" and "Great Panruo Sutra", as well as more than a thousand stone carvings of Buddhist stories. The number of scriptures exceeds 200 million, and it lasted 28 years from 1923 to 1951. The huge number of stone carving projects fully demonstrates the hard-working spirit and wisdom of the Tibetan people. It is a rare cultural landscape.
