Relying on a large number of precious historical materials, it tells the story of a Red Army unit attacked by the enemy during the Chinese Revolutionary War through four scenes of returning home, growing up, transferring, and traveling east. The story of growing up and learning under the care of the mother shows the vivid scene of the Yan'an Nursery School in the historical period of the Chinese Revolutionary War, and demonstrates the selfless love among the people.

As a red classic play integrating history, nationality, innovation and artistry, "Yan'an Nursery School" combines dance, folk songs, Yangko, Ansai waist drum, Taoism, spinning and weaving, land reclamation and farming, etc. The artistic expression with local characteristics makes the life scenes of the revolutionary era vividly presented, making the audience feel as if they are in the real revolutionary era.

Synopsis

Prologue

In the early days of the Anti-Japanese War, a Red Army unit was attacked by the enemy, and a heroic soldier mother was unfortunately killed. The token she left for her child was only a military cap with the child's name "Hongyuan" written in blood. The child was safely transferred to Yan'an under the care of the Red Army soldiers, and then sent to Yan'an Nursery School to live and study.

Act 1 go home

Life in the nursery is hard but happy, and those children taken in by the war grow up happily here. Hongyuan, the boy who was rescued from his mother back then, has also grown up, but he is withdrawn and unwilling to speak. He wears the big red army cap left by his mother all day long and seals himself off.

Act 2 Growth

The dean and the childcare staff are determined to help him completely untangle his heart. The deep love of the nursery nourishes the hearts of every child, just like the stars in the night sky, propping up a sky of love for them. In the face of the harsh reality, the head of the nursery school reluctantly left behind his daughter Hongxia, and left more hope to other children. During the transfer of the team, the children were guarded by continuous family affection from all directions. And experienced the test of life and death again and again.
