Meaning "desolate lake", it is located in Gaize County, Ngari Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, China, in the southeast of Gaize County, and in the northwest of Dongcuo Township Government. The shore of the lake is open. The lake is 4396 meters above sea level and covers an area of 87.7 square kilometers. The lake area has a cold and dry climate, with an average annual temperature of 0°C and an average annual precipitation of 150-200 mm. The lake is mainly recharged by surface runoff. There are salt minerals such as rock salt and Glauber's salt in the lake area. Provincial Highway 301 passes through the south bank of the lake. On October 29, 2010, the Dongcuo Wetland Provincial Nature Reserve was established.
