Hongqiao, formerly known as Wohongqiao, also known as Fengyu Building, is located in the center of Fenghuang Ancient City, lying on the Tuojiang River, intersecting with Minzu Street vertically and horizontally, reflecting each other. Standing on the bridge, you can see the entire Fenghuang ancient city, and enjoy the picturesque scenery on both sides of the Tuojiang River. It is one of the best places for viewing and photography in Fenghuang ancient town. Hongqiao Fengyu Tower was built in the early years of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty. According to rumors, Zhu Yuanzhang believed that the Fengshui here was related to the dragon's veins, and he was afraid that the real emperor would be born. Therefore, he ordered to build the bridge and cut off the dragon's neck in Fengshui. After several repairs before and after, the current Hongqiao Fengyu Building was completed in 2000. Hongqiao Wind and Rain Tower has a unique shape, majestic, simple and elegant. The wooden structure stilted building built on the bridge deck matches the length of the bridge deck. There are 12 wooden houses of different sizes on both sides. There are local products, miscellaneous goods, and small department stores. There is a 3.6-meter-wide pedestrian corridor in the middle with a roof. Covered, walking in the corridor, you can hear the sound of wind and wipers, but the wind and rain do not enter, so it is called "Wind and Rain Building". Fengyulou is divided into upper and lower floors, the first floor is mainly shops and grocery stores, and the second floor is the folk culture building, which houses many calligraphy and painting works about Fengyulou, and is also a good place for sightseeing and drinking tea.
