The temple and the two stone statue towers were first built during the period from Jin Zhenglong to Dading (1156--1189). The organizers included the presiding monks Puen, Dejing and Baoyi Xiaowei, and Li Shixiong, the owner of Huachi Village. It was named "Stone Pagoda Academy", and later changed its name to "Xingjiao Academy" during the Da'an period. This is a Buddhist temple. The temple was abandoned during the Yuan, Ming and Qing Qianlong years. The existing temple ruins mainly include the remnant walls and foundations of the "Three Saints Hall", "Sanmen Hall", "Jalan Hall", "Shuangyin Pavilion", "Bell Tower" and two statue towers. There are more than 3,600 statues of Buddha, Bodhisattva, disciples, supporters, and Ji Letian carved all over the statue tower; the second tower has fewer statues, 615 statues in the whole tower, and the tower is 11.98 meters high with 13 floors.

The twin towers are beautiful in shape, rigorous in structure and exquisite in carving, showing the exquisite craftsmanship and perfect artistic modeling of unknown ancient craftsmen, and have high historical, scientific and artistic value. In 2000, a rescue excavation was carried out on the ruins of the temple, and cultural relics and specimens such as stone tablets, sutra buildings, pottery and stone building components, etc. were unearthed, especially many precious inscriptions, recording the name of the temple, the year when it was built, and the organizers.
