Huanglongxi Ancient Town is located in the southwest of Shuangliu County, about 40 kilometers away from Chengdu City, and has a history of more than 1,700 years. In the town, there are Qingshiban ancient streets in Ming and Qing Dynasties, which are integrated with ancient archways, ancient temples, ancient buildings and dwellings. The traditional folk activity of "burning the fire dragon" in the town is magnificent, and it is called "the hometown of fire dragons in China".
The ancient town is located at the confluence of two rivers and has the flavor of a "water town". A stream passes through the city, and the two banks are paved with bluestone. On both sides of the road are mostly Ming and Qing buildings, built by the water, with wooden pillars and blue tile pavilions, exquisitely carved railings, quiet and simple. Nowadays, the ancient town is the filming location of many film and television dramas, and many recent film and television films such as the movie "Furong Town" and the TV series "Sea Lantern Master" have been filmed here.
There are three ancient temples on the main street, namely Zhenjiang Temple, Chaoyin Temple and Gulong Temple. In the Gulong Temple, there are thousands of years old Jue tree and a stage from the Qing Dynasty. In addition, there is a strange "Three Counties Yamen". Because Huanglongxi Town is located at the junction of the three counties in history, it is known as "three counties with one foot", so the three counties set up this institution here.
The snacks in Huanglongxi Ancient Town are also well-known, such as one noodle, charred elbow, pearl bean curd, braised yellow pepper, etc. are worth tasting, and can be eaten in most restaurants in the ancient town.

Huanglongxi has rich folk customs, and it is advisable to "burn the fire dragon" from the second to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month every year. The "Fire Dragon" is lifelike, and every family prepares fireworks and firecrackers. When the dragon lantern comes to the door, the fireworks are shot at the dragon body. After the performance, everyone burns the dragon body and throws the ashes into the river to pray for good weather in the year.
To visit Huanglongxi Ancient Town, you can go to and from Chengdu on the same day, or you can stay in the town for one night. There are many accommodations in the new town at the entrance of the ancient town; in the center of the ancient town there is a "Dayuanba", a courtyard in western Sichuan, which also provides accommodation.
