Huangshizhai cableway is located between Baishajing and Huangshizhai in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, with a total length of nearly 1,000 meters and a height difference of 430 meters. The cableway was put into operation in 1997. It is a reciprocating 50-passenger (2 groups of 3 with 17 seats) gondola-type cableway. It is the first reciprocating cableway in China. It can transport 948 people per hour at a speed of 9 m/s. There are 6 cabins in total, and each cabin can accommodate 17 passengers. Huangshizhai is one of Zhangjiajie's boutique scenic spots. It is said that Zhang Liang, the Marquis of the Han Dynasty, lived in seclusion here and was rescued by his master Huang Shigong. At an altitude of more than 1200 meters, with strange rocks supporting the sky, strange peaks, towering cypresses, and clouds and mists, it is the largest volley viewing platform in the scenic area. It takes about 4 hours to go up and down Huangshizhai on foot. Taking the cableway can save most of the time, and you can also enjoy the scenery of thousands of strange peaks that cannot be seen by walking.
