The Hump Route Memorial Hall is located in Pianma Town, Lushui County, Nujiang. Nujiang Prefecture is the main area that the Hump Route flies over. Great contributions were made to the Anti-Japanese War and the World Anti-Fascist War. Due to the bad weather in the Snow Mountain Canyon and the invasion of Japanese aircraft, more than 650 aircraft crashed on the Hump route, and thousands of Chinese and American pilots died.
According to investigation statistics, 25 planes crashed in the Nu River area. The C-53 transport plane restored and assembled in the memorial hall is a China Airlines plane piloted by American pilot Jimmy Fox and Chinese pilots Tan Xuan and Wang Guoliang on March 11, 1943, flying from Kunming Wujiaba Airport to Tingjiang, India On the way, it crashed near Pianma due to strong airflow, and the pilot was missing. The wreckage of the plane was discovered in 1996, cut into three parts, and transported from Gaoligong Mountain to Pianma. To commemorate the hump route, Lushui County invested in the construction of the Nujiang Hump Route Memorial Hall, and assembled and restored the crashed C-53 transport plane, recreating the heroic appearance of the hump route aircraft back then.
