Huo Qubing's tomb is located about 15 kilometers northeast of Xingping City and about 1 kilometer northeast of Hanwu Emperor Mao's Mausoleum. Huo Qubing was only 23 years old when he died. To commemorate his military exploits, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty built his mausoleum in the northeast of Maoling as a funeral tomb. According to records, Huo Qubing's tomb is "like Qilian Mountain", which is intended to commend his illustrious military exploits in the Hexi Corridor and Qilian Mountain. In China, only generals who have made great military exploits can build such tombs. It is said that after his death, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was very sad, so he dispatched the Xuanjia Army and lined up along Chang'an to Maoling Huo Qubing Cemetery. Huo Qubing's tomb, the upper and lower tombs, and the surrounding cemetery are surrounded by jagged rocks, green pines and verdant cypresses, which shade the tomb, creating a scene of deep mountains and forests. At the south, east and west corners of the tomb, each has a scroll scripture, leading to the top of the tomb. Huge stones are piled up on the sealing soil, and there are stone figures, stone animals, etc. in front of the tomb. Among them, "Horse Stepping on the Huns" is the main stone carving in front of the tomb. It is 1.9 meters long and 1.68 meters high. The image of the struggling Huns is a representative monumental work. Also because of this sculpture, Huo Qubing's tomb is more popular than that of his uncle Wei Qing.
