Jiaohe Station was an important post station on the Silk Road during the Tang Dynasty. The Jiaohe Station Scenic Area is equipped with: Post House Conference Hall, Post House, Caravan, Beacons, Karer Well Source, World Drying House, Grape Corridor, etc. The scenic spot presents this period of history in multiple forms, and reproduces the ancient way of transmitting information through five parts: Chang'an City, Jingzhao Station, Liangzhou Station, Yumen Pass, and Jiaohe Station. The glory of the Silk Road Station is concentrated here.
Due to the dry climate, little rain, and lack of water sources in Turpan, the local working people of all ethnic groups creatively channel groundwater to the ground for irrigation and domestic water, which is called "Karez", which means "well hole". There are 1,784 Karez wells in Xinjiang, with a total length of 5,272 kilometers. There are 1,237 Karez wells in Turpan area in history, and only 214 Karez wells with water exist. Karez is composed of four parts: vertical shaft, culvert, open channel and dam. The Karez in Jiaoheyi Scenic Area is named "Keqike Aji" Karez, which has a history of more than 570 years.
The Kanerjing Source Sightseeing Area is 20 meters in diameter, and you can take the sightseeing elevator directly to the source of the 50-meter-deep Karez Well. You can personally experience that the ancients built it with a shovel, a pick, and a basket, and it is called China's "underground canal". It is called the three great human projects in ancient China.
