Jincheng Ancient Academy is located in Jincheng City, Shanxi Province. The original name of this academy was "Mingdao Academy", and it was renamed "Ancient Academy" in the Qing Dynasty. The founder of the ancient academy is Cheng Hao, a famous philosopher and educator in the Northern Song Dynasty and the founder of Cheng Zhu Neo Confucianism in China. This was the only academy built in Shanxi during the Northern Song Dynasty at that time, thus establishing the unique position of Jincheng in Shanxi during the Northern Song Dynasty.
