Baihetan Hydropower StationJinsha RiverThe second cascade power station in the cascade development of the downstream mainstream river section has comprehensive benefits such as power generation, flood control, sand retention, improvement of downstream shipping conditions, and development of navigation in the reservoir area. The normal storage level of the reservoir is 825 meters, and the corresponding storage capacity is 20.6 billion cubic meters. The underground plant is equipped with 16 units, with an initial installed capacity of 16 million kilowatts and an average annual power generation of 60.24 billion kilowatt-hours. The power station plans to officially start the main project in 2013, the first batch of units will generate electricity in 2021, and the project will be completed in 2022. After the power station is completed, it will be second only to the Three Gorges Hydropower StationIt is the second largest hydropower station in China.
