The Jinsha River is the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in China. It got its name because of the golden color of the sand in the river. Also known as Shengshui, Yanshui and Lushui. Sichuan-Tibet boundary river. The birthplace of the Jinsha River was determined in the 1970s to be the main peak of the Tanggula Mountain in Qinghai Province, the snow-capped mountain, which is the source of the Tuotuo River. It is administratively affiliated to Jieduo Township, Zaduo County, Yushu Prefecture.
