Jintai Temple is located on Lingyuan in the north of Baoji City, only about 1 km away from the railway station. It was built in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties. It was the place where Zhang Sanfeng, a famous Taoist priest, practiced Taoism. "History of the Ming Dynasty Fang Ji" records: "The Taizu respected his name, and in the twenty-fourth year of Hongwu (1392), he sent envoys to find him, and he lived in Jintai Temple in Baoji."

In ancient times, there was a folk saying that "Baoji has a golden platform view, which is only five and a half feet away from the sky". It is said that the view is so high that if you are on the platform in front of the Yuhuang Pavilion of the golden platform view, you will have a great view. . The overall layout of Jintaiguan buildings is close to the mountain, and the main buildings are arranged along the central axis, which is symmetrical from left to right. There are Yuhuang Pavilion, Sanqing Hall, Octagonal Pavilion, Sanfeng Cave, etc. Every year on the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar and the tenth day of the tenth day of October in the lunar calendar, there is the Jintai Temple Fair, where there are performances of local operas such as Qin Opera.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the government allocated funds for many times to repair the ancient buildings of Jintai Temple, and later built it into the Baoji City Museum. Baoji City Museum is a local history museum. Over the years, a total of 14,100 pieces (groups) of cultural relics have been collected, most of which are Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang cultural relics.
