Jintian Temple was built in the second year of Jianwen in Ming Dynasty (1400 A.D.). Because there is a statue of Lei Zu in the temple, also known as "Lei Tan", it is the place where Taoism spread scriptures in Lanzhou in the early years. In the old days, the palaces and pavilions of Jintian Temple were so majestic, the corridors were secluded and winding, and pines, cypresses, Huaiyu and elm were all over the place. In the middle is Leitan, in the east is the altar temple, in the west is my temple, and there is a garden in the northwest corner. Now it has been turned into the Lanzhou Workers' Cultural Palace.
According to records, there were originally 36 Tang locust trees in Jintian Temple, which were called "Thirty-six Thunder Generals". There are 3 Tang Huai trees and 3 Ming and Qing cypresses over 120 years old. The taller one is more than 20 meters tall, with a diameter at breast height of nearly 3 meters.
There are more than ten inscriptions of Ming and Qing Dynasties in the south of the courtyard. Among them is the "Blood Stele" of Princess Mingsu, which was moved from Jieyuan, and stands in the west corridor of the original Erqing Hall. In the 16th year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1643), He Jin, the general of Li Zicheng's Dashun Army, captured Lanzhou, and Zhu Shihong, the last king of Su, was captured. Princess Su Yan, Zhao, Gu, Pintian, and Yang led more than 200 palace people from Ningxi Garden to Fuyun Tower on the north city wall, planning to commit suicide by throwing themselves into the Yellow River from the north city wall. At that time, the pursuers were approaching, and Yan's family rushed to the stele of Su Wang's poems standing on the Fuyun tower, touched the stele and died. The rest of the concubines were martyred by jumping over the wall, killing themselves, and hanging themselves. The local people collected the bodies of Su Wang's concubines, dug a large tomb in the garden, and buried them all. From then on, the place where Concubine Yan spilled blood on the stele of Su Wang's poems stacked on Fuyun Tower left a bowl-sized bloodstain, which was very obvious every time it was cloudy or rainy or the weather changed.
