Boundless Temple, commonly known as Baita Temple. There is a saying in Taigu, "there is Baita Village first, and then there is Taigu City". This is because the Boundless Temple was built very early, and there was a white pagoda in the temple, so the village was named after the pagoda, and it was the location of Yangyi County in the Northern Zhou Dynasty. In the eighteenth year of Emperor Kaihuang (598) of the Sui Dynasty, it was renamed Taigu County, and the old county seat was changed to Yangyi Township until now. The temple was founded in the eighth year of Taishi in the Western Jin Dynasty (272), and was renamed Puci Temple during the Zhiping period of the Northern Song Dynasty. It was repaired in Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. In the 32nd year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1906), it was renamed Boundless Temple after reconstruction. Boundless Temple is located at No. 10, Nansi Street, south corner of Taigu County. Apart from the White Pagoda, there are still buildings such as the Mountain Gate, the Inverted Stage, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Main Hall, the Dedication Hall, and the Library of Sutras. The White Pagoda has seven floors and is 40 meters high. It is an octagonal brick and wood mixed building. The appearance of the pagoda is still in the style of the Song Dynasty, with brick and stone eaves, imitation wood bucket arches, doors and windows on each floor, and decorated with wind bells. There are nine floors in the tower, with wooden floors and wooden stairs for climbing. From the top of the tower, you can overlook Taigu City. The temple stands north to south, with a rectangular plane and an area of 3,500 square meters. There are three courtyards at the front and back of the temple, with a complete scale, rigorous and sparse layout. On the central axis, the mountain gate and the stage are connected as a whole, with the stage on the top and the alleyway-style mountain gate with brick coupons below. In the middle is the Siming Pavilion, which is open all around, three rooms wide and three deep, with gorgeous carvings and far-reaching eaves. A pair of green glazed pottery lions are placed in front of the pavilion, 2.3 meters high. A wooden archway is built on the left and right. There is a hexagonal fish pond behind the pavilion. In summer, the fountains in the pond are surging, goldfish are playing in the water, and the waves are rippling, which is very interesting. A few meters north of Yuchi is the famous White Pagoda. The plane of the tower is octagonal, a seven-story pavilion-style brick tower, 43.6 meters high, with eaves and flat seats on each floor. There are brick-carved bucket arches under the eaves. The arched door openings on each floor are connected to the outside of the eaves, and are carved with false doors and windows. The first floor of the tower is a small square room, which can be accessed by steps. The center of the tower above the second floor is hollow, and there are floors and wooden ladders for people to climb. On the top, there is a Zunsheng stone building, which is magnificent, magnificent and exquisite. From the top platform, you can have a bird's-eye view of the whole city and the surrounding scenery for more than ten miles. The existing White Pagoda was built when the Wubian Temple was rebuilt in the fifth year of Yuanyou (1090) in the Northern Song Dynasty. It is actually a physical example of the transition form from the hollow Tang Pagoda to the solid Song Pagoda.
