芳芳外婆
One of the eight oldest temples in the ancient city of Zhengding, it was built in the Eastern Wei Dynasty and has a long history. The temple still retains a pagoda built in the late Tang Dynasty, which is very similar to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an.
Kaiyuan Temple is so cute! The Sumeru Pagoda in Kaiyuan Temple is a bit like the Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an. Yes, it is also known as the Wild Goose Pagoda. Kaiyuan Temple bell tower and bell, national security! There is an archaeological excavation site near Kaiyuan Temple, which can be visited through glass, recommended!
Zhengding Kaiyuan Temple was built in the second year of Xinghe in the Eastern Wei Dynasty (540 A.D.). The existing Tianwang Hall, Bell Tower, Sumeru Pagoda and Fachuan Hall ruins exist in the temple.
The main hall of Kaiyuan Temple is at the back, and the pagoda and the bell tower face each other on the left and right. This layout is a precious example for studying the transition period of Buddhist temples from pagoda-centered to hall-pavilion-centered.
The giant Bixi located in the southeast of the temple is a relic of the Five Dynasties period, "the largest Bixi in the world".
During the Kaiyuan period of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, many Kaiyuan Temples were ordered to be built across the country. The ones I have seen include Chaozhou and Quanzhou.
After thousands of years of changes, most of the buildings have been annihilated in the dust of history. All things will be disillusioned: people, temples, Buddhas.
But at this moment, the meeting between people and the temple is fate.
Zhengding's tourism service is very good, buy a ticket, you can come in during the day and night. Especially at night, the tower is illuminated by lights, and there is a half moon on the eaves of the tower, which complements the bell tower next to it. There was silence all around, as if time had frozen. You will think of the situation here a thousand years ago, or what it will be like a thousand years later...
No self, no form, no going, no coming. Amitabha!
During the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty, Buddhism prevailed, and many Kaiyuan temples were built across the country (both in Quanzhou and Chaozhou). In Kaiyuan Temple, one of the national security guards in the ancient city of Zhengding, there is this largest statue in China built during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. (the eldest son of Long Jiuzi), he is still cute (ancient statues all have this cute feature), in addition, the only bell tower of Tang Dynasty in China is also worth seeing!

Kaiyuan Temple
The characteristic is the base of the remnant stele of Bixi (bìxì) from the Five Dynasties period, which is 8.4 meters long, 3.2 meters wide, 2.6 meters high and weighs 107 tons. Bixi is the eldest of the dragon's nine sons, looks like a turtle, has teeth, is strong, and is good at carrying heavy loads. Therefore, its image often appears under the stele. The Bixi placed in the Kaiyuan Temple is said to be the largest in China, with a pig-like nostril and head held high, with a clumsy and cute image.
The main building is the Sumeru Pagoda, commonly known as the brick pagoda, which was built in the tenth year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty. It is exactly the same as the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an.
