 Tens of kilometers north of Baiyu County, there is a red Buddhist temple "Katuo Temple" in Khamba District, which was built in 1159. Kathok Monastery is the birthplace of Tibetan Buddhism in the Kham area, a representative temple of the Nyingma Sect, and its collection of cultural relics can be called a peerless Tibetan orphan. The temple is the place of worship of the Red Sect in the Kham area.

The altitude here is 4800 meters. Kathok Monastery is the most famous among the six Vajra Dojos in the Nyingmapa lineage. Kathok, also translated as Kathok, (Gatuo, Gaduo), and English translation as Kathok. Kathok Monastery can be called the mother monastery of the Nyingma Sect.

The temple preserves the remnants of lianhuasheng thorns bestowed by the Yuan Dynasty, the seal donated by Basiba to the temple, the Manjusri Buddha statue of the Ming Dynasty, the complete collection of scriptures bestowed by the emperor of the Qing Dynasty, porcelain bowls and arrow clusters from the Gesar period, Precious cultural relics such as single-eared bronze pots and animal shapes.
