Kunming Botanical Garden is located on the west side of Heilongtan Park with towering ancient trees. It is a living plant collection garden with the main content of introducing rare flowers from Yunnan, Chinese herbal medicines from Yunnan, important trees from Yunnan and rare and endangered plants from Yunnan. Nearly 4,000 species of plants have been collected, and there are 10 specialized botanical gardens.
Among them, the Maple Leaf Corridor is very popular among photographers. Sweetgum Avenue is located in the west garden of Kunming Botanical Garden. It is about 500 meters long. There are 50-year-old sweetgum trees planted, and nearly 800 small trees have been planted in recent years. Fengxiang Avenue is full of trees in spring and summer. In late autumn, the red maples are like fire and the yellow leaves are flying. It is especially suitable for people who have lived in the city for a long time to enjoy the maple leaves in spring, relax and breathe fresh oxygen. The Kunming Botanical Garden "Maple Leaf Festival" is held every October-November on the maple avenue in the garden, which is a unique seasonal scenic spot in the park. Every autumn season, it becomes a colorful world full of red mountains and colorful forests.
