Lake Hala belongs to the internal flow saltwater lake in the east of the Qaidam Basin, deep in no-man's land. It is located between Tianjun County and Delingha City in Qinghai Province. It is formed by the accumulation of water in the depression basin, and the water source of the river comes from the melting water of alpine glaciers. Tuanjie Peak, the main peak of Qilian Mountains, is located in the north of it. With an area of 607 square kilometers, the lake is the largest lake in the Qaidam Basin and the second largest lake in Qinghai Province. There is a large population of Huangyu in the lake, and it is an important breeding ground for birds such as geese, sandpipers and gulls.
