The Lakeside Restaurant is located by the Retiro Pool in Hsinchu Park. It is composed of four Japanese-style buildings. It was established in the 1930s and used to be a banquet place for senior civil servants, generals, and wealthy businessmen. After Taiwan's recovery, it was taken over by the military. It was called the "Eleventh Air Force Village" because it used to be the residence of senior Air Force officers. In recent years, it has become an important exhibition hall and sales center for the Hsinchu International Glass Art Festival and Glass Art Street.
