Lanzhou City Museum is a local comprehensive museum with more than 13,000 pieces of cultural relics in its collection. Among them, the painted pottery drum of the Majiayao Culture Machang type is the earliest known percussion instrument in my country. The Majiayao painted pottery urn unearthed in the Honggu District is 63 cm high and 56 cm wide at the shoulders, making it the largest painted pottery ever discovered. In addition, bronze guis from the Western Zhou Dynasty, writing paper from the Eastern Han Dynasty, three-colored cloud-toed shoes from the Tang Dynasty, celadon piled plastic bottles from the last generation, white porcelain statues of King Su of Ming Dynasty, and armor of the chieftain of Lu are all precious cultural relics.
The museum is famous for its Baiyi Temple Pagoda, which has high historical and artistic value. The tower is a solid brick tower, about 30 meters high. The base of the pagoda is square, 7 meters long and 7 meters wide, and 2.8 meters high, with floral patterns engraved on all sides. The lower part of the tower is in the shape of a bowl, about 8 meters high, and the diameter of the larger part is 6 meters. There is a Buddhist niche at the junction of the south and the base of the pagoda, and there are three Buddha statues in the original niche. The upper half of the pagoda is an octagonal cone, 18.5 meters high, with a total of 12 layers of dense eaves, and the number of layers is an even number, which is rare in China. There is one Buddhist niche on each side of each floor, and one Buddha statue inside, a total of 96; one wind chime is hung on each corner of each floor, a total of 96. The tower brake is about 1 meter high, shaped like a vase, and the outside is copper-plated. Made of metal.
