Lazikou is a transliteration of the Tibetan language, which means "the dangerous mountain road and gorge". This is a very dangerous canyon pass on the Ganchuan Ancient Road and the current Mindai Highway. Walking from the Tibetan area of the snow-capped mountains and grasslands, you can turn over the Lazikou and you will find a plain Han area.

There are towering mountains around Lazikou, the mouth of the gorge is cut like a knife and an axe, and the Lazikou River gushes out from the mouth of the gorge. The two cliffs are densely forested, and the pass is really a dangerous place where "one man guards the pass, and ten thousand men cannot open it". On September 16, 1935, the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army entered the Lazikou area on the Long March. Through frontal assaults and outflanking tactics by climbing cliffs and fierce battles, they broke through the heavily guarded natural barrier at dawn on the 17th and opened the door for the Red Army to go northward.
