Liangcheng Daihai tourist area is located in the south of Wulanchabu League, with beautiful mountains and rivers and pleasant scenery. Daihai is 10 kilometers long from north to south and 35 kilometers wide from east to west. In midsummer, the slightly oval Daihai Sea looks like the first lotus leaves.
During the Qing Dynasty, Kangxi visited Daihai many times, and built a palace here, named it "Liangcheng", and named Daihai "Tianchi". The palace was later renamed Huixiang Temple, which was once one of the largest temples in Inner Mongolia. It was destroyed by war in 1939. In the 38,000 mu of primary secondary forest of Manhan Mountain, there are dozens of wild animals. Under the peak on the north side, there are Foye Cave, Jinshui Ridge, Wannian Ice Cellar and other strange landscapes, which are good places for sightseeing.
There are many scenic spots in Daihai Tourist Area. Standing on the Huixiang Temple ruins and looking west, the Sleeping Buddha in Dongjin Mountain looks peaceful and lifelike. In the tourist area, there are 5,000-year-old Longshan early culture in the northern country outside the Great Wall, the ruins of Laohushan Stone City and the ruins of Yuanzigou cave dwellings, and two 100-kilometer Great Walls—the ancient Great Wall of Qin and Han Dynasties and the Great Wall of Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Daihai Hot Spring, also known as Horse Plane Spring, is located in Zhongshuitang Village, Sansumu Township near Daihai. It is said that Emperor Kangxi’s horse paved the spring here to quench his thirst when he was patrolling the border. In the past, this place has always been a bathing and recuperating place for lamas and nobles, with a daily water inflow of 2,732 tons and a water temperature of 38 degrees.
