The Zhuozhou Twin Towers (Twin Towers of the Liao Dynasty) are the landmark buildings of the ancient city of Zhuozhou. Zhidu Temple Tower", the North Tower is called "Yunju Temple Tower". Both pagodas are named after the temple, but it is unknown when the temple was destroyed, and only one pagoda remains, collectively called "Zhuozhou Twin Pagodas".
The twin pagodas are both octagonal brick imitation wood pavilion-style stupas. The south tower has five levels and a height of 44 meters. It was built in the eleventh year of Liao Taiping (1031). The North Tower has six levels and is 56 meters high. It was built in the eighth year of Liao Da'an (1092). The twin pagodas have obvious characteristics of the era, and quite have the architectural style of the Liao Dynasty, which has a certain influence in China.
The Zhuozhou twin towers are the few pavilion-style brick towers preserved among the existing Liao towers in China. They completely imitate the wooden pavilions. The workmanship of the Liao double towers is fine.
