The Lieshan Ancient Tomb Group is 3,200 meters above sea level. The Lieshan Ancient Tomb Group belongs to the Tubo period and has a history of more than 1,200 years. It is one of the important materials for studying the tombs and funeral customs of the Tubo period. The plane of the ancient tombs is trapezoidal, facing south from the north, and the mound of sealed soil is 1.68 meters high. The sealed soil has not been rammed, and there are mesh stone walls inside the sealed soil. It is 0.30 meters high and 0.53 meters high. The building complex is magnificent and has a peculiar structure. The entire tomb complex stretches for several kilometers, which is a rare sight in Tibet.
The Lieshan ancient tombs not only reflect the funeral system and tomb level of Tibet more than 1,000 years ago, it is of great value for the study of the rise and fall of the Tubo Dynasty, but also for the study of Tibetan history and the exploration of paleoclimate and paleoenvironmental changes on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau at a thousand-year scale is of great significance. In 2000, the Lieshan Ancient Tombs were listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
