Denggan Mountain is 4 kilometers away from the west bank of Tianchi Lake, rising abruptly in the mountains and valleys. The main peak is 2,718 meters above sea level, and there are three huge stalagmites standing on the top, which are shaped like halberds and pierce the sky, also known as "three stones that top the sky". Myths and legends are the transformation of the embroidered shoes used by the Queen Mother to subdue demons. This is an excellent place to watch the sunset in Tianchi and appreciate the ancient glacier landforms.
According to legend, when the Queen Mother came out of Yaochi, she saw that Tianchi was surrounded by jagged peaks, the ground was tilted and the sky was tilted, and the pool was full of black waves, full of evil spirits. It turned out that the black fish spirit was at work. The Queen Mother took off a cloud-toed embroidered shoe, threw it into the pool, and caught the black fish spirit. Then the Queen Mother erected a huge stone on the mountain west of Tianchi Lake, split it into three pieces with hairpins, formed a tripod-like posture, lifted up the western sky, and brought peace to the world. Later, a Taoist erected a long pole among the three huge stones, and hung a red light on the long pole, which was called "Changming Lantern".
