Lihuawu is located at the foot of Jiulonggang, about 3 kilometers southwest of Baoshan City. It was built by Wang Hongzuo, a Shangshu Baoshan native in the Qing Dynasty. It is a Buddhist holy place in Baoshan with a history of 300 years. It got its name because the courtyard is full of pear trees, also known as the Big Pear Garden.
According to legend, Wang Hongzuo went back to his hometown to visit his relatives after he became rich. Later, he served as Minister of the Ministry of Household, Ministry of Punishment, and Ministry of War in the Qing court. In order to thank Guanyin for his salvation, he established a Zen Forest Buddhist Temple here, and built a statue of Guanyin in the temple for the world to worship.
There is a Ciyun Pavilion in the dock. Behind the pavilion, there is a mural of Guanyin standing in the clouds. Wang Hongzuo is wearing an official uniform and bowing his hands, and a horse with a saddle grazing grass leisurely. This painting is confirming the legend.
In the newly built Jade Buddha Hall in recent years, there are three crystal clear and priceless jade sitting Buddhas, which are rare treasures. When you come to Lihuawu, don’t forget to taste the vegetarian meals and feasts here, which are well-known and well-known far and wide.
Festival: Every year on February 29th, June 19th, and September 19th of the lunar calendar, there are Guanyin meetings, and there are crowds of pilgrims.
