Lijiashan is located on the high slope of the loess, hidden in the depths of the mountain, ethereal and elegant, and was praised by Mr. Wu Guanzhong, a master of Chinese painting, as one of the three major discoveries in his life. The cave dwellings here are exquisitely constructed, looking like a desolate Han tomb from a distance, and the ancient village is relatively closed, like a peach blossom garden isolated from the world.
Lijiashan Village is shaped like a phoenix, and the houses are built according to the body and two wings of the phoenix. They are scattered and distributed on the 70-degree hillside, forming a very visually stunning effect. These cave dwellings are superimposed layer upon layer along the mountain, and there is a path in front of the house to connect with each other.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was the place where Qikou merchants resettled their families. Because of its good geographical location, it is the family residence of a businessman surnamed Li, so it is called Lijiashan. These cave dwellings were built very meticulously, and the exquisite stone carvings and carefully carved eaves and corners all revealed the gorgeousness and exquisiteness of the wealthy families at that time.
The typical loess landform, elegant natural environment, cascading cave buildings, rich style of the Yellow River, and simple folk houses attract many artists from all over the country to collect and create.
