The ancient road was first built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. It is the main traffic route from the northern part of the Shanxi Plateau to the North China Plain. It reaches Weizhou in the north and Moyuan in the south, covering a total of 140 miles. In the fifth century A.D., Tuoba Xianbei of the Northern Wei Dynasty came out of the Taihang Mountains along the Tang River Valley through this road, swept across Hebei, and aspired to the Central Plains.
The ancient road turns around, the river bends, the green hills overlap, and the scenery is charming. Monasteries, Xiongguan, and Buddhist tombs complement each other. Especially the Jueshan Temple built in the Liao Dynasty is even more legendary.
