Ningxia Lingwu Dinosaur Geological Museum, as a historical museum, exhibits the world's largest dinosaur femur replica model and the original Asia's largest dinosaur model - Sichuan Hechuan Mamenchisaurus replica model, which is 22 meters long and 10 meters high. There are also animal fossils such as Benlong, Oviraptor and dinosaur eggs, wolf-finned fish, Qianlong, big-lipped rhinoceros skulls, and turtles.
The Lingwu dinosaur fossil was identified by Xu Xing, a researcher at the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and an internationally renowned dinosaur expert. It belongs to a rare branch of Diplodocus, Diplodosaurus, a large new lizard from the Mesozoic and Middle Jurassic periods. Footed herbivorous dinosaur, about 160 million years ago. Lingwu dinosaur is one of the largest genera of sauropod dinosaurs known in China, and some data, such as the length of the back vertebrae, even exceed all known dinosaur genera. The Lingwu Dinosaur Fossil Site is the largest dinosaur fossil found in my country so far, with concentrated distribution, complete preservation and undamaged surrounding environment. It is of great significance to the study of sauropod dinosaur morphology, taxonomy and phylogenetic evolution, and it provides important information for understanding Mesozoic geography and the formation of global paleozoological fauna. It provides precious physical data and important scientific information for displaying prehistoric ecological landscapes, studying the geography and climate of ancient times in Northwest China, the reproduction, migration, and extinction of dinosaur species, and the theory of the drift of the earth's land plates.
