Lingying Temple is located on the north platform of Wutai Mountain. It was founded in the Sui Dynasty. The built-in stone tablet records the construction of Lingying Temple in the past dynasties. Going north along the mountain gate is the Arctic Xuan Palace, which is the Guodian of Lingying Temple. The tiles on the roof of the hall are yellow-green glazed tiles, which are built into a chessboard shape. A huge plaque on the front of the gate reads: Pilu Zhenjing was established in the eighth year of Kangxi (1669). There is a statue of Weituo Bodhisattva on the front of the original hall, and there are eight sitting Buddhas around Weituo Bodhisattva.
The main hall is three stone caves, which are dedicated to Wugou Manjusri Bodhisattva. In 2001, Lingying Temple was expanded and repaired again. Five new Manjusri halls, three Dragon King halls and one stone archway were newly built, all of which were built with white marble.
The main hall has single eaves on the top of the mountain, arched doors and windows, front corridors, stone lions on the left and right in front of the door, left and right side halls are suspended mountain tops, and the pillars between the corridors are decorated with stone bucket arches. The overall facilities are simple, lively, stable and generous. The Dragon King Hall is placed on a two-meter-high platform, with three rooms wide, arched door openings, and a single eaves resting on the top of the mountain.
In front of the hall, there are guardrails carved with white marble, and the guardrails are embossed with various flowers and grass leaves, which is extremely spectacular.
The Yinfeng Pagoda is located in the east of the Dragon King Hall and is a great miracle on the top of the North Terrace. It was built to commemorate the eminent monk Yinfeng Zen Master of the Tang Dynasty.
Zen master Yinfeng, whose common surname is Deng, was born in Shaowu, Fujian Province. He was an eminent monk in the Tang Dynasty. He often lived in Hengyue Mountain in winter and kept cool in summer. .
