The main building of the museum has two exhibition halls, the "Painted Pottery Hall" and the "National Hall", and an ancient tomb of the Jin Dynasty. By the 1980s, the State Museum had collected nearly 3,000 pieces of cultural relics, including more than 2,000 pieces of pottery, as well as stone, bone, bronze, porcelain, iron, calligraphy and painting, etc.
The Painted Pottery Museum has selected more than 1,700 pieces of fine painted pottery from Quanzhou, and various types of painted pottery cultures are gathered. The painted pottery in the museum is arranged in the order of origin of the cultural types they represent. Among them, there are more than 60 pieces of painted pottery from Majiayao, more than 350 pieces from Qijia, more than 170 pieces from Xindian, more than 270 pieces from Bianjialin, more than 180 pieces from Banshan, more than 640 pieces from Machang, and 25 pieces from Siwa. .
In the courtyard of the State Museum, a tomb of Wang Ji, the Jinyi school captain, was restored in the 15th year of Dading in the Jin Dynasty (1175). It consists of a corridor, a tomb door and a tomb chamber. The chamber is 2.40 meters deep, 2.20 meters wide, and the top of the tomb is 2.65 meters high, with a dome-shaped vault of overlapping bricks. It is decorated with carved and molded tiles all around, which is very gorgeous and exquisite. It is a relatively complete and exquisite Jin Dynasty brick chamber tomb restored so far in my country. You can enjoy the artistic style of brick carvings in the Song and Jin Dynasties.
