The upright and towering sandstone, like the remains of a deep ancient castle, stands abruptly on the ground, known as the "Little Potala Palace". Such a shape was developed under the joint action of running water erosion and wind erosion. Due to the difference in softness and hardness of the rock, the difference in wind erosion has resulted in the formation of many layered piers with a relative height of 10-30 meters, forming a fantastic castle shape. Due to the arid climate, there is not much vegetation covering the rocks, which makes them appear more sturdy and rough.
