It is said that a long time ago, the Nine Dragons did evil. Manjusri Bodhisattva practiced Buddhism and pressed them under the nearby Nine Mountains. At the bottom of this spring, the shadows of nine small dragons can be seen, so it was named Longquan. The ancient temple next to the spring was named Longquan Temple. The entire temple faces south from the north, with a clever layout, and there are more than 160 halls in total. There are three major halls arranged on the central axis of the temple: Tianwang Hall, Guanyin Hall, and Daxiong Hall.
Climbing up the steps, there is a stone archway with three gates and four pillars in front of the mountain gate. The archway is all carved out of white marble, and it is full of patterns such as flying dragons, treasures, and jade pots. It took 10 years to build this archway, and it is a treasure in modern stone carving art.
At the bottom of the steps under the archway, there is a screen wall of finely ground blue bricks. The white marble carvings embedded in the center of the screen wall can be regarded as a schematic diagram of the main temples of Wutai Mountain. The concept is ingenious and the carving is exquisite.
There is a tomb tower in front of the patriarch hall in the middle courtyard, which was built for Wutai eminent monk Puji. The whole body is made of white marble with exquisite shape, which is also unique in Longquan.
