Longshan Scenic Area is located 20 kilometers southwest of Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. It is adjacent to the ruins of Jinyang Ancient City in the east, Tianlongshan Scenic Area in the west, the famous Jinci Scenic Area in the south, and adjacent to Mengshan Giant Buddha and Taishan Scenic Area in the north. It mainly includes the Longshan Grottoes , Northern Qi Tongzi Temple Site, Haotian Temple Site, etc.

Longshan Scenic Area has beautiful natural scenery and has the characteristics of "different scenery in four seasons". The original vegetation on the mountain is luxuriant, covering more than 95% of the area. In spring and summer, the mountains are full of greenery and flowers. In late autumn, the mountains are all dyed. The red leaves all over the mountains contrast with the graceful pines and cypresses, which is very poetic and has a unique charm. "Longshan Red Leaves" is famous far and wide.
