The Lu Family Mansion is the former residence of the merchant Lu Huashao (Lu Jiu) family. It is a typical Chinese-style mansion built with thick blue bricks, and it is also a typical example of the gentle and slender architectural style of Cantonese houses in the late Qing Dynasty.

The building has a pattern of three bays, three entrances and two floors, including halls, rooms, kitchens, utility rooms, etc. Multiple patios are arranged in the building to facilitate ventilation and lighting. There are not only brick carvings, plaster sculptures, horizontal drapes, hangings, and oyster shell windows common in central Guangdong, but also Western-style false ceilings, Manzhou windows, and cast iron railings. All kinds of characteristic decorations are smelted in one furnace, which is interesting and reflects the characteristics of local residential buildings with a combination of Chinese and Western architectural styles.
