Lufeng Museum is located on Jinshan South Road, Lufeng County, Chuxiong Prefecture. The museum has 8 exhibition halls, displaying the world's oldest dinosaur fossils, ancient ape fossils, Ming Dynasty porcelain, and Qing Dynasty bronze Buddha statues. Among them, the Xushi Lufengsaurus and the giant Lufengsaurus fossils on display are the oldest and relatively complete dinosaur skeleton specimens so far.
In the Australopithecus hall of the museum, there are paleontological fossils such as Ramapithecus skull fossils, Siwapithecus skull fossils, Australopithecus mandibular fossils and Australopithecus teeth fossils. The Hall of Paleontology displays the Mesozoic Triassic and later dinosaurs, Ramapithecus, Sivapithecus, and Bian's beasts unearthed in Lufeng, as well as three-toed horses, hyenas, ancient pigs, saber-toothed tigers, and giant claws. There are 128 kinds of paleontological fossils such as beasts, hornless rhinos, beavers, otters, moths, elephants, and deer.
In addition, there are more than 50 pieces of Yuan Dynasty blue and white porcelain unearthed from the ruins of Lufeng Luochuan Ancient Porcelain Kiln and Renxing Bailongjing Ancient Porcelain Kiln in the Porcelain Hall, of which two pieces of Yuan Dynasty blue and white porcelain are the only ones in the world. The Bronze Ware Hall exhibits bronze weapons and production tools unearthed in Lufeng Guangtong during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Such as 10 pieces of spears, swords, battle-axes, hoes, axes, etc., and 1 piece of tinware (hoe). In addition, there are 38 bronze statues of Buddha, Taoism and Confucianism in the Yuan Dynasty, which are rare in South Asia.
The Cultural Relics Hall mainly displays a large number of commemorative cultural relics left behind by the Red Army of Chinese Workers and Peasants during the Long March, such as copper, copper pots, bowls, basins and so on. The Video Archives Hall mainly displays precious materials such as texts, photos, and videos collected in the library.
