Luya Mountain Scenic Area is known as "Five Hundred Li Qixiu Luya Mountain". It is the source area of five rivers including Fenhe River and Sanggan River. It is composed of Alpine Meadow, Lover's Valley, Ningwu Tianchi, the source of Fen River, Xuankong Village and other scenic spots. Different from the well-known and overcrowded Wutai Mountain, Luya Mountain has few tourists and is a rare and elegant destination in Shanxi.
Luya Mountain is named for its resemblance to a "reed bud", with an altitude of 2739 meters. There are overlapping peaks and ridges, surrounded by more than 200 peaks and more than 30 waterfalls. The peaks are steep, the rocks are jagged, and the forests are dense. Every time there are clouds and mists lingering, the male peaks stand out. At sunrise after the rain, the dark green mountain of Luya will change into a fiery red color, and occasionally you can encounter the colorful "Luya Buddha Light" in the shape of "Dharma Wheel".
