The ancient town of Manchuanguan is located in Manchuan Town, 70 kilometers southeast of Shanyang County, Shangluo. It is located at the confluence of Qianjin River and Jinjia River. In the past, Manchuanguan was the border of Qin and Chu, and it was fortified here in all dynasties. Now it is the border of Shaanxi and Hubei.

Manchuan Pass has a long history. In the Spring and Autumn Period, it was a barbarian country; in the Warring States Period, Chu and Fangcheng passed through here, and the boundary monument between Qin and Chu is still there; in the Southern Song Dynasty, this was a roundabout battlefield where Song and Jin fought repeatedly; The built Chuan Gang Guild Hall, Hubei Guild Hall, Wuchang Guild Hall, Mule Gang Guild Hall, Wusheng Palace and other buildings are now listed as protected cultural relics. At the foot of Tudi Ridge in Qiandianzi Village, Manchuan Town, there is a "Thousand Buddha Cave" in the mountain. It was built during the Yongchang period of Wu Zhou, and there are 222 Buddha statues in existence.

Manchuanguan is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with Cuiwei's Longshan Mountain in the east, Fuling Mountain in the north, and Yunling Mountain in the southwest. Qianqian River and Jinjia River pass through it. The climate here is warm and humid, and it is rich in citrus, rice, sesame and tung oil. Before the opening of the Longhai Railway, Manchuan was a wharf for floods and droughts, and became one of the important distribution centers for material exchanges between Shaanxi, Hubei, Henan and Shu. Manchuan streets are long and narrow, all paved with stone strips and stones. The houses on both sides are mostly made of wood. The houses are small and exquisite, with an attic on the upper floor, painted gables, raised dragon and phoenix corners, and mirrors hanging from the top, which is antique. There are markets on the street every day, and there are many shops, and the custom of "men go to the fields and women set up stalls" has been continued.
