Mao Nv Cave

Maonu Cave is located on Maonu Peak in the northwest of the main peak of Huashan Mountain. It is a natural stone niche on which a temple was built for a painted sitting statue of Maonu. Legend has it that it is the place where the hairy girl hides. According to legend, there are often melodious sounds of drums and zithers coming out of Maonu Cave. The "Bai Dou Ping" on Maonv Cave is said to be the place where Maonv worships Beidou in the dead of night, regardless of hunger or cold.

There are two stone caves opposite Maonv Cave, and the platform above is called "Liu Xi Terrace". Legend has it that Liu Xi in the "Lotus Lantern" abandoned his official position and lived in seclusion here because the Three Virgins were pressed under the West Peak of Huashan Mountain. Next to Liuxi Terrace is the "Three Emperor Terrace", and the big stone is engraved with the words "Climb to the first Range Rover". After passing Maonv Cave and going up, there is a bridge called Maonv Bridge straight up the steps.

Now Maonv Cave is an important reception station, with shops, guest rooms, cold drinks, snacks, cooking, tea houses and other businesses.
