Built in 1969, the Taipei Martyrs' Shrine mainly enshrines about 390,000 officers and soldiers who died in the war. In addition, the handover of guards every hour is also one of the most popular places to visit.
In the middle of the huge archway, there are three characters "Martyr's Shrine", and on both sides there are four characters "Chengren" and "Quyi", which symbolize the fearless spirit of the martyrs. The more than 10,000 square meters of green grass around the Martyr's Shrine, surrounded by mountains, creates a quiet and solemn atmosphere, which further highlights the solemnity of the building.
