The Mazaboha Grottoes are located on a sandy plain 30 kilometers northeast of Kuqa City, Aksu. In the Uighur language, "Maza" means "grave" and "Boha" means "garden", which together mean a cemetery. It turns out that this village does have a large cemetery. The name of the Mazaboha Grottoes comes from the name of this village, because the distance between the two is very close, and the grottoes are on the hillside less than 500 meters southwest of the village.
From a geographical point of view, the Mazaboha Grottoes are located in the southeast of Kershi Village, while the Senmusim Grottoes are located in the northwest of Kershi Village. The two grottoes are far away from Kershi Village. Among them is a carriageway passing through Kershi Village, with towering old trees along the roadside, and you can reach the Kizqiuha Grottoes by walking this lane.
The current Mazaboha Grottoes have become a relatively dilapidated one in the entire Kucha Grottoes. Among the 44 caves that have been numbered, caves 141 and 42 on the 24th have all collapsed, and the other 9 caves are so dilapidated that there are only holes one by one, and the shapes of the caves cannot be distinguished. Among the relatively complete caves that can be seen, there are only 5 caves that still preserve murals. This is related to the fact that the Mazabeha Grottoes were built on loose sandy soil.
