Zhu De's former residence is located at No. 4 Honghua Lane and No. 3 Xiaomeiyuan Lane, Crystal Palace, north of Wuhua Mountain in Kunming. Courtyard No. 3 of Xiaomeiyuan Lane is used by Zhaoshan Primary School, and Courtyard No. 4 of Honghua Lane is used by Yunnan Memory Culture Communication Co., Ltd. There are exhibitions of Zhu De's life and deeds displayed in the buildings, which are open to the public.
The former residence of No. 4 Honghua Lane, Crystal Palace, facing south, is a Chinese-style courtyard with civil structure. The main building is on the second floor, five rooms wide and two rooms deep, with corridors under the eaves. The ear room is three rooms wide, one room deep, and five rooms wide to the seat, with a construction area of about 380 square meters. The one on the east side of the building was Zhu De's former residence, and a small garden was built behind the building, and it was built as No. 3 Xiaomeiyuan Lane. The house at No. 3 Xiaomeiyuan Lane is a two-storey building with brick and wood structure. The upstairs and downstairs are connected by corridors. There is a high slope behind the building, and there is an open space in front of the slope.
