Ziwu Road, also known as Ziwu Valley, is the ancient plank road that Liu Bang walked back to Hanzhong after he was demoted to the Bashu area by Xiang Yu to become the queen of Han Dynasty. The north entrance is in Chang'an County, called Zikou; the south entrance is in Yang County, called Wukou, with a total length of 420 kilometers. Along the way, there are Cai Lun's Tomb and Zhang Qian Memorial Hall.
After the Hongmen banquet, Liu Bang was demoted by Xiang Yu to the Bashu area to become the king of Han, and he returned to Hanzhong along the Meridian Road. On the way, he listened to Zhang Liang's idea and burned the plank road behind him to prevent Xiang Yu from invading south, and to make Xiang Yu not suspicious of Liu Bang going north.
