The original site of the film city was a garrison fortress set up during the Ming and Qing Dynasties to defend against the invasion of Fucheng (Yinchuan City) by various ethnic groups north of Helan Mountain. It was composed of "Old Fort" and "New Fort". The old castle was first built in the Ming Dynasty, so it is also called Ming Castle. It is famous for its desolate, rough, primitive and natural appearance.
