Moon Bay is a bend of the Kanas River, located above Wolong Bay. Due to the height difference at the bottom of the lake, the change of upstream water flow and the influence of light, Moon Bay presents magnificent and changeable colors. Moon Bay is sandwiched between the east and west mountains, and the river course twists and turns along with the mountains, shaped like a crescent moon, hence the name Moon Bay.

Moon Bay twists and turns between river valleys, and the water surface is as flat as a mirror. There are two small sandy beaches that resemble footprints in the upper and lower bays. It is very peculiar and is called "fairy footprints" by the locals. There are different legends about these two "footprints": some say they were left by the Dragon King of the West Sea when he recovered the river monsters, some say they were left by Chang'e's ascension to heaven, and another say they were left by Genghis Khan when he pursued the enemy on the west. No matter which legend adds a touch of mystery to Kanas.

Moon Bay can almost be said to be a representative of Kanas, and Moon Bay appears in more than 80% of Kanas photos. There are many peaks on both sides of Moon Bay, dense virgin forests, towering ancient trees, and a large green lawn on the peninsula-like platform of the river bay under the forest; if you go to the side moraine platform at an altitude of 1,500 meters next to the road, you can overlook the beautiful scenery in the valley ——The whole picture of Wolong Bay, Moon Bay and other meanders.
