Shangri-La Moonlight Plaza is located at the foot of Guishan Park, Shangri-La County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is a small square with an unremarkable appearance. When passing by during the day, it is full of barbecue stalls, filled with smoke. There are relatively large prayer wheels here, which can be used for devout prayers. At night, it instantly turns into a place for local Tibetans to enjoy and relax. Locals and tourists of all ethnic groups circle around and dance enthusiastic Tibetan dances, enjoying themselves.
The hill to the east of the square is the famous Guishan Park, which is the location of the Kamikawa Governor's Mansion in the Tang Dynasty, that is, the famous "Iron Bridge East City" in history. It is said that when the city was built, someone looked at the mountain opposite the ancient city and found that Daguishan was like a Buddha sitting on a lotus. Therefore, the layout of the ancient city was shaped like an eight-petaled lotus. As time passed, the Kamikawa Dudufu, which was shaped like a lotus, has disappeared and replaced it. Patchwork Tibetan Buddhist temples.
On both sides of the square are the Long March Museum of the Red Army and the Diqing Museum. In addition, there is a prayer wheel, with a golden figure piercing the blue sky, like a giant standing upright. It is said that chanting the six-character mantra and going around the prayer wheel three times will bring happiness and well-being. Moonlight Square is not big. In addition to the cultural landscape left by history, there are also horses, yaks and Tibetan mastiffs for tourists to take pictures.
