Laga Mountain is located on the south bank of the Bailong River in the southeast of Lijie Township, Zhouqu County, Gansu Province, 12 kilometers away from Provincial Highway 313. Laga Mountain has beautiful natural scenery and unique folk customs. It is also an important gathering place for Tibetan Buddhism in Zhouqu Tibetan Township.
Laga Mountain is located in Lijie Township on the upper reaches of the Bailong River, surrounded by the "Zhandan Temple" in the early Tang Dynasty and the "Huayang Ancient City Site" in the Western Han Dynasty. On the west side of Mount Laga, there is a mountain peak with a huge rock on top, which looks like a warrior sitting on a horse and watching from a distance. The ancient vines on the rock stretch like ribbons of war robes. Next to the huge rock, there is a towering ancient cypress, which the locals call "the devil's wand". It is "warrior formation". There is a small lake at the foot of Nanshan Mountain, which is crystal clear and its surface is like a mirror. The lake is warm in winter and cool in summer, and people and animals drink it to cure diseases and strengthen the body, and they often take baths, so it is called "Holy Water Lake".
Laga Mountain makes researchers more interested in the annual mountain sacrifice activities. The Mountain Sacrifice Festival originally originated from the ancient ancestors' awe of nature and their desire for protection. The local Tibetan people have always regarded every mountain peak and every stream and spring in their hometown as individual life, and endowed them with a vivid meaning of life. Don't be obscene and sabotage lightly.
Every fifth day of the fifth lunar month, Tibetan young men and women who live on both sides of the Bailong River and share the same cultural customs as the Laga Mountain people gather here to hold a grand mountain sacrifice ceremony.
