Mount Wutai is located in Wutai County, Xinzhou City. Surrounded by five peaks with platform-like peaks and beautiful scenery, it is a famous summer resort. In addition, it is also the dojo of Manjusri Bodhisattva, and there are many temples, ranking first among the four famous mountains of Chinese Buddhism. This is the dojo where the Yellow Temple (Tibetan) and the Qingmiao (Han) coexist, not only the monks of the Han, but also the lamas of the Tibetan.
If the five fingers are regarded as the towering "five platforms", then the palm is the town of Taihuai. Taihuai Town is the geographical center and base camp of Wutai Mountain Scenic Area. Most of the temples are also concentrated here, which is a must-see for tourists. When visiting Wutai Mountain, you usually live and eat in Taihuai Town. It is more suitable for a three-day itinerary. If you don’t rush the time, you can basically see all the main temples. There are two things you must do when you come to Wutai Mountain. One is to go to various temples to worship Buddha and pray for blessings, and the other is to worship Wutai (Dachaotai).
On the day you come, you can play in the town center and get familiar with the environment of Mount Wutai by the way. The more elite temple clusters in Taihuai Town are located in the northwest of the town, which can be visited on foot or by scenic environmental protection car. In the morning, go to the Wuye Temple (Wanfo Pavilion) where incense is very popular in Wutai Mountain, and then go to the Tayuan Temple to see the symbols of Wutai Mountain in turn-the Dabai Pagoda, the stone lion of Luohu Temple, and the large-scale Qingmiao Xiantong on the whole mountain. Temple, Bodhisattva top of the historic Yellow Sect monastery.
On the second day, you can take an eco-car to visit the distant places around. In the morning, walk along the town street to the north, cross the Qingshui River and come to the foot of Dailuoding. You can climb the 1080 steps of Dazhi Road, worship the 5 statues of Manjusri Bodhisattva (small platform), and you can also take the cableway to and fro. Then go all the way to the south, see the Burmese Jade Buddha and Maitreya statues in Bishan Temple of Shifang Temple, then go to Shuxiang Temple to pay homage to the five taller colored statues of Manjusri, and then go to Nanshan Temple to see a variety of stone carvings. The scenery of South, North and Middle Terraces. If you have enough time, you can also go to Zhenhai Temple, where Emperor Shunzhi became a monk, to see the bearded Guanyin statue and the exquisite Qing Dynasty painted story murals.
There are many temples on Mount Wutai. In addition to the above main temples, there are also Nanchan Temple, Longquan Temple, Guangzong Temple, Baiyun Temple and other temples, each with its own characteristics, you can choose according to your personal preferences.
After visiting the main temples, on the third day, you can choose a few of the "five platforms" to climb to the top. Among the five platforms, Wanghai Peak in Dongtai is a good place to watch the sunrise. The sunrise in the sea of clouds here is very spectacular. There is no accommodation on the mountain, so you need to get up early to watch the sunrise; Nantai Road is more difficult to walk, but the scenery is very beautiful, especially in summer. It is beautiful; every autumn in the West Terrace, the moon hangs like a mirror on the top of the peak; the North Terrace is the peak of Wutai Mountain, and it is also a good place to watch the snow scene. When it snows, you can overlook the northern scenery of the mountains.
